A secondary highway, Routeruns from Highway east to Clearwater River in northern Saskatchewan ; this provincial park is km east of Fort Mac and just as isolated. This is a strip-a-thon, one of several held throughout Alberta during the past week to raise money for Fort McMurray. Portions of the road remain one lane in each direction; twinning is in progress but incomplete. Fort McMurray has an extensive public transit system that reaches all areas of the city. For those who did manage to get out of the city on their bikes, the journey to Edmonton was all the more momentous as the small gas tanks of a motorcycle required as many as three to four stops to scavenge fuel enroute. Fort McMurray can be known for its brutally cold winters.
